Logan Twp. Fire

Crews from both Blair and Cambria counties battled a two-alarm house fire in Logan Township Saturday evening, according to fire officials.

Officials say crews were dispatched around 5:30 p.m. to a home along the 400 block of Longview Drive in the Kittanning Trail section of Logan Township.

Fire officials say the blaze began in the home’s chimney but soon spread.

Authorities say crews had a difficult time responding to the scene due to the icy and cold conditions, and the home’s narrow driveway, which limited access.

No residents were injured in the blaze, officials note, but one firefighter was transported for a hand injury.

Crews from Logan Township, Lakemont, Newburg, Grandview, Greenwood, Allegheny Township were all dispatched to the scene.

Additional crews from Hollidaysburg, Duncansville, Bellwood, Freedom Township, Geeseytown, Ashville and Gallitzin were later dispatched to assist.

Fire officials say the scene was cleared around midnight.
