Students from across Somerset and Cambria County are busy at work this week at Richland High School. It’s part of the “Learning Lamp’s Summer Music Camp” where 6th through 12th Graders are teaming up for a special performance of Disney’s “The Descendants” this weekend.
One Staff member we spoke to saying: “Today we are working on Descendants the Musical. This is put on by the Learning Lamp and we have different staff from different areas coming in. We have some really talented kids from all across the County here at all kinds of grade levels. We’ve been doing some team building activities so they get to know each other.” Adding: “When I was first asked to come on, I was like ‘Two Weeks? That’s all we’re going to get?’ But it’s true that they are hard working and we hit the ground running. We made it very clear to them that we only had 2 weeks. It’s nice because we’re not during the School year where there are other extracurricular activities and they aren’t running off to practices or other things. They are very focused.”
