One business in Cambria County is among several organizations in the area that are helping out victims in east Tennessee and North Carolina who were affected by Hurricane Helene.
Liberty Tax is collecting various items to send to the victims, including donations of water, non-perishable food, clothing, hygiene products and more.
“We have Amazon orders coming in that people cannot get here. So, they’re just shipping stuff to us. The plan is that if we get enough by the weekend, we’ll make a trip down by this weekend and then continue to collect as long as people are bringing things in. We’ll make as many trips down as we need to,”
If you’re interested in donating, you can drop off items at Liberty Tax, located on Scalp Avenue in Johnstown, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Other area locations that are collecting donations include the Oakland Fire Company, in Johnstown, Elk Run Vol. Fire Company and the Shade-Central City schools, in Somerset County.
