Kline Murder Update

A Windber man accused of killing his wife and burying her under their Paint Township home in the spring of 2019 has pled guilty, according to the Somerset County District Attorney’s office.

Now 50-year-old James Kline pled guilty to third degree murder and abuse of corpse earlier this month, acting Somerset County DA Molly Metzgar says.

Police say Kline is accused of killing his wife Cora Kline in April of 2019.

Investigators say Cora Kline was reported missing by her husband on April 5, 2019, and her remains were found a few months later.

Her husband, James, reportedly told police that she had run away from their home.

Police say he later changed his story to say that he “found her unresponsive and had assumed she had overdosed, so he buried her.”

Investigators say Kline eventually confessed to strangling and killing his wife following an argument.

Kline is scheduled to be sentenced on March 3rd.
