Kenny Pickett Signs Rookie Contract

Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett was the first Quarterback taken in the 2022 Draft as the 20th Overall Pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nearly two months later, the First-Round Draft Pick signed his Rookie Contract. Pickett was the last unsigned Draft Pick from the 2022 Draft. On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Quarterback signed his Four-Year Rookie Contract that includes a Fifth-Year Option. Reports state that the value of Pickett’s four year deal is upwards of $14 Million with signing bonus of more the $7 Million.

Pickett joins the Steelers after a stellar fifth-year Senior Campiagn with the Pitt Panthers. Pickett lead Pitt to an 11-2 Record and the School’s first ACC Championship where the “Pickett Slide” was created. The 6’3″ QB was also a Heisman Finalist this past Season.

So far through mini-camps, Pickett has been taking 3rd Team reps. The Steelers currently have 4 Quarterbacks on the Roster. Mitch Trubisky, who is in his 6th year overall in the League but first with the Steelers. There’s Mason Rudolph, who’s entering his 5th year with Pittsburgh. Then the two Drafted Rookies, Pickett and Chris Oladokun from South Dakota State.

And so, in the first year without Ben Roethlisberger, there should be an interesting QB competition to take place this Season for the Starter role.
