Juan Soto Wins Home Run Derby

MLB All-Star Game aired on FOX 8 Monday night. One yinzer was suited up for the National League Team, that was Pittsburgh Pirate relief Pitcher David Bednar.

All-Star week has been filled with surprises. The biggest one happened in the Home Run Derby. Washington Nationals Juan Soto edged Seattle Mariners Rookie Julio Rodruiguez last night to claim the 2022 Home Run Derby. Soto won $1 Million and then shook off the big money questions.

Soto recently turned down a 15-year $440 Million contract extension with the Nationals ahead of the trade deadline, which is August 2nd. Even though Soto won, Saint Louis Cardinal Albert Pujols stole the show. At 42, Pujols is the oldest player to participate in Home Run Derby, but Monday night was his last time swinging away for the $1 Million prize.
