Johnstown Symphony Orchestra

After a lengthy lull due to the pandemic and switching to virtual performances, the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra is ready to get back into the swing of things. They recently elected a new board president to serve a two year term.

Mark Adelman, who is a graduate of Somerset Area High School. He plays the French horn for the for the Erie Philharmonic while working for the Somerset Trust Company. He says his mission is to sustain and build interest in the

symphony to continue its rich history of bringing music to the Johnstown region, along with financial stability, community programing and music education.

And we spoke with Mark about his new position, and here’s what he had to say. This should make sense. We make it. We’re trying to make it easier for people to listen to us. Easier for people to to get involved with our music.

“Get involved with what we are doing, all in the name of really trying to make sure that we are building our next idea and turning that audience into donors.”
