Johnstown St. Benedict Reports COVID-19 Case

Officials with the Diocese of Altoona/Johnstown say that an employee at Saint Benedict Parish, in Johnstown, has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release.

The release states that parishioners have been notified and the church will be closed to the public for cleaning.

Parish officials say that Mass will resume on Friday, Sept. 18 and that anyone who does not feel comfortable attending is granted permission to stay home.

The Diocese reminds all clergy and parishioners to wear masks when attending Mass and other gatherings, and to continue practicing social distancing.

Officials note that the employee is currently under quarantine for two weeks.
