Johnstown Elections

It was some big races in Johnstown tonight. Voters will decide on the mayor,council seats and several referendum questions now on the mayoral front. Democrat Frank Jankovic is seeking a third term.

Jankovic is facing long time foe John DeBartolo.

He ran against Jankovic in the 2017 Democratic primary and lost, DeBartolo running as a Republican. The four council spots. three incumbents Marie Mock, Reverend Sylvia King and Ricky Britt are joined by newcomer Laura Huchel on the Democratic side.

On the Republican side, two former council Democrats, Joe Toronto and Charlene Stanton, joined by Charlene’s husband, James. Voters will also decide on questions regarding procedural changes for city staff and four council votes.
