Johnstown Burglary and Police Chase

Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer says a man is in custody and facing charges after an armed burglary that turned into a Police chase. The incident happened in Johnstown Saturday night. According to the DA, it started when Police responded to an armed burglary call at a home along Woodvale Avenue around 11pm.

Officials say the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Jaymir Khali Hall-Huger, led Police on a pursuit, leading to several damaged cars. Neugebauer says the vehicle was then stranded on railroad tracks and Hall-Huger jumped off a viaduct wall into the Conemaugh River. He was later removed and was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for possible Hypothermia.

During the pursuit, Neugebauer says a Johnstown Police Officer discharged his firearm and per policy, the Officer is now on Administrative Duty. No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities say no one was injured during the incident and State Police are handling the investigation.
