James Franklin Signs New Contract

Penn State’s James Franklin has agreed to the terms of a new 10-year contract to remain as the head football coach of the Nittany Lions through 2031.

The terms were approved by the Subcommittee on Compensation of the Penn State Board of Trustees Tuesday.

The new contract increases his pay from $5.5 million this year to $7 million per year, plus an annual $500,000 retention bonus at the end of each calendar year and other performance bonuses.
