Huntingdon County School District Gets Upgrades

In Huntingdon students with the Huntingdon Area School District are getting some upgrades.

Officials say students will be getting new Chromebooks and I-Pads thanks to more than half of a million dollars from the emergency relief funding.

The funds were established during the pandemic.

The new tech will replace 5 year old equipment students had been using.

The district says this money couldn’t have come at a better time.

“If we hadn’t gotten this device refresh, that’s about a million dollars we would have been trying to get out of the general fund. We’re not in a very good position here in Huntingdon with our budget, so it would have been hard to actually accomplish.”

Officials say they hope to have the new devices ready and available to students when they return to school in August for the next academic year.
