Guns & Hoses Hockey Fundraiser

The Altoona Police Department was busy practicing on the ice Today, in preparation for the upcoming Guns vs Hoses charity hockey game against the Altoona Fire Department and Ambulance Service.

The game is an annual fundraiser to benefit local non-profit civic service organizations.

Over the years, they’ve raised more than $75 thousand dollars for different organizations.

This year, the proceeds will benefit Family Service, Inc.

Players say the most important thing is for them to honor their pledges of serving the community.

“It’s not a break in what we do, as far as what we do. The emergency service departments, the various ones, whether it be AMED, fire or police; I know quite a few of the guys who are going to go right from going into the game to going into a shift and serving the community in that way as well.”

The Guns vs Hoses charity hockey game is at 7 Saturday Night, at Galactic Ice, in Altoona.

A donation is requested for admission.
