GJSD Provides Meals to Students

Despite Students not learning in-person every weekday, one thing at Greater Johnstown School District that won’t change is the kids getting school meals. Students in the Greater Johnstown School District will be getting free breakfast and lunch everyday, but they’ll now be eating some of those meals at home. When the COVID-19 Pandemic started to impact schools in Pennsylvania, the Greater Johnstown School District made sure it wouldn’t effect students being fed.

Frank Frontino, Assitant Superintednet for the School District, says every Johnstown Student will be given free breakfast and lunch this school year even for the days they learn virtually. Frontino saying: “The bundled meals will be provided on a daily basis given to all Students prior to leaving School, so the Middle School and High School they’ll have four meals the Elementary School Students K through 4 will have 3 meals.” Frontino says Students learning completely online this year will also get the free school meals. He says parents can pick up the meals at their child’s bus stop at the end of the day.
