Penn State tight end Pat Freiermuth will have season-ending surgery next week, according to a report from ESPN.
Coach James Franklin made the announcement, stating that Freiermuth suffered an “undisclosed” injury in the loss to Ohio State.
Freiermuth played in the two games that followed the loss to the Buckeyes, but he did not suit up in Saturday’s loss to Iowa.
The junior is expected to declare for the upcoming 2021 NFL draft.
Following Saturday’s loss, the Nittany Lions are now 0-5 for the first time in program history.
Penn State will travel to the “Big House” next Saturday to take on Michigan. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
