In Somerset County, the Hooversville Fire Department hosted a food drop-off Saturday to benefit to the local food pantry.
People could drive by the fire hall and drop off their items which will go to the Hooversville food pantry.
Organizers say the pantry has seen an increased need for food over the years, especially this year with the pandemic.
“We wanted to educate some of our younger generations of firefighters of the importance of this, and hopefully that they’ll keep the torch burning and continue to support it even after we’re gone,” said Fire Chief Jim Karashowsky.
