Fire Victim Identified

Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees has identified the woman killed in a duplex fire in Johnstown Sunday morning.

Lees says 35-year-old Rachael Dionis died from toxic smoke inhalation and second- and third-degree burns.

Officials say flames broke out at a duplex located on the 1000 block of Edson Ave around 4:30 a.m.

Officials said Dionis died in the fire, while two others were taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

Lees has not yet made a ruling on the nature of Dionis’ death.

He says the state fire marshal and fire police are still investigating the fire’s cause and point of origin.
