Ferguson Twp. Bank Robbery

Police were called to this PNC Bank branch around 4 this Afternoon, and Ferguson Township police say money was taken.

“Today at 3:50 this afternoon, an individual came into The PNC Bank on North Atherton Street. He showed a sign requesting money, left with an undisclosed amount of money.”

These are photos of the suspect whom police are still looking for. He’s described as a white man, standing between 5-9 and 6-1, and was last seen wearing a dark jacket, khaki pants, a red cap and a green face covering.

“He left on a bicycle heading South down towards Downtown State College.”

Police tell us, nobody was hurt.

“Most importantly, none of the tellers were injured during the incident today, they followed their training.”

Sergeant Ryan Hendrick says this is abnormal for the typically secure community in the State College area and says that this happening in broad daylight is troubling.

“To do that during business hours is concerning. Obviously, there’s always some risk when you’re doing that but again, we live in a great community, it’s not our norms but yeah, to your point, it is very brazen, it’s concerning.”
