DOH COVID-19 Update

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 6,330 new coronavirus cases in the state Monday, bringing the statewide total to 426,444 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.

Fifty-eight percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.

State health officials also reported 42 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 11,373.

According to the Department of Health, 5,421 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 1,115 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Health officials say there are 671 available ICU beds in the state.

There have been 27,901 confirmed cases in our viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 448 deaths.

Four hundred and seventy-nine new cases and six more deaths were reported in our viewing area Monday.

Cambria County reported 209 new cases Monday, Blair County reported 68, Clearfield County reported 49, Jefferson County reported 40, Somerset County reported 31, Huntingdon County reported 29, Bedford County reported 25, Centre County reported 23 and Elk County reported five.

Cameron County reported it’s first death Monday.

Bedford and Blair counties each reported two more deaths, while Somerset County reported one.

According to the Department of Health, 2,991,640 patients have tested negative for the virus.
