DOH COVID-19 Update

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported a total of 8,291 new coronavirus cases in the state Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 375,431 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.

Sixty percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.

State health officials also reported 194 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 10,757.

According to the Department of Health, 4,982 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 1,048 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Health officials say there are 695 available ICU beds in the state.

There have been 24,147 confirmed cases in our viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 334 deaths.

Five hundred and thirty-two cases were reported in our viewing area Wednesday, as well as 21 additional deaths.

Blair County reported 97 new cases, Clearfield County reported 92, Cambria County reported 89, Centre County reported 75, Somerset County reported 62, Jefferson County reported 36, Bedford County reported 34, Elk County reported 25, Huntingdon County reported 20 and Cameron County reported two new cases.

Bedford County reported six more deaths.

Blair and Cambria counties each reported four more deaths.

Huntingdon County reported three more deaths.

Centre County reported two more deaths and Clearfield and Jefferson counties each reported one more death.

According to the Department of Health, 2,852,624 patients have tested negative for the virus.
