The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed an additional 1,857 Coronavirus cases in the state Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 180,943 throughout all 67 counties.
Eighty percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
There have been 7,526 confirmed cases in our viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 72 total deaths.
One-hundred fifty-nine new cases were reported in our viewing area.
Cambria reported an increase of 46 new cases, Centre reported 37, Huntingdon reported 35, Blair reported 23, Bedford reported 6, Somerset reported 5, Clearfield reported 4 and Elk reported 3 new cases.
State health officials reported 9 more Coronavirus-related deaths over the past two days, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 8,466.
According to the Department of Health, 2,119,850 patients have tested negative for the virus.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between October 10 and October 16 is 234,583 with 9,778 positive cases. There were 41,794 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., October 16.
