The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed an additional 1,566 coronavirus cases in the state Friday, bringing the statewide total to 179,086 throughout all 67 counties.
Eighty percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
There have been 7,367 confirmed cases in our viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 72 total deaths.
One-hundred fifty-eight new cases were reported in our viewing area.
Centre reported 36 additional cases, Blair and Cambria each reported 30 new cases, Somerset reported 24, Huntingdon reported 17, Bedford reported 8, Elk reported 6, Clearfield reported 5 and Jefferson reported 2 new cases.
State health officials reported 25 more coronavirus-related deaths over the past two days, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 8,457.
Centre County reported its 15th virus-related death.
According to the Department of Health, 2,103,044 patients have tested negative for the virus.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between October 9 and October 15 is 238,610 with 9,592 positive cases. There were 34,782 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., October 15.
