The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed an additional 1,598 Coronavirus cases in the state Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 177,520 throughout all 67 counties.
Eighty percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
There have been 7,209 confirmed cases in our viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 71 total deaths.
One-hundred thirty-one new cases were reported in our viewing area.
Centre reported an additional 50 cases, Blair reported 24, Huntingdon reported 19, Cambria reported 18, Bedford reported 6, Somerset reported 5, Clearfield reported 4, Jefferson reported 3 and Elk reported 2 new cases.
State health officials reported 21 more coronavirus-related deaths over the past two days, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 8,432.
According to the Department of Health, 2,089,197 patients have tested negative for the virus.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between October 8 and October 14 is 240,220 with 9,370 positive cases. There were 33,839 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., October 14.
