The number of people getting COVID has jumped drastically after Christmas, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. 17,520 more people across the Commonwealth tested positive for COVID 19 today, and this shatters the one
day record that was set on Christmas Eve.
And now Pennsylvania is approaching the grim milestone of 2 million total cases since the start of the pandemic, and today 522 of those cases were from right here in our ten county viewing area.
Centre County has won 174 more cases today.
Cambria has 114.
Somerset has 71.
Clearfield with 48
Blair County with 47 new cases.
Bedford and Huntingdon counties both have 31 new cases today.
Elk has 21,
Jefferson has 15
Cameron did not report any. And 304 more people have died from COVID 19 across Pennsylvania, according to the DOH, and 22 of those people were from our region.
Five were from Somerset County, Four from Huntingdon County, Bedford Cambria and Clearfield have three new deaths. Jefferson had two, and Blair and Centre Counties both had one death Today.
