The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 2,356 new coronavirus cases in the state Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 922,990 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Ninety percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 81 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,868.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,962 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 421 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 69,010 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,983 deaths.
One hundred new cases were reported in our viewing area Thursday along with six more deaths.
Centre reported an increase of 33 new cases, Clearfield reported 19, Cambria reported 14, Somerset reported 12, Elk reported seven, Huntingdon reported six, Blair reported four, Cameron reported three and Bedford reported two.
As for deaths, Blair, Huntingdon and Jefferson reported two more each.
According to the Department of Health, 3,852,446 patients have tested negative for the virus.
