The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 1,906 new coronavirus cases in the state Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 913,497 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Eighty-nine percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 27 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,597.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,959 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 421 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 68,531 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,970 deaths.
One-hundred sixty new cases and two more deaths were reported in our viewing area.
Centre reported an increase of 74 new cases, Cambria reported 19, Clearfield reported 14, Blair reported 13, Huntingdon and Jefferson each reported 10, Somerset reported 9, Elk reported 7, Bedford reported 3 and Cameron reported one new case.
As for deaths, Blair and Centre each reported one additional death.
According to the Department of Health, 3,822,646 patients have tested negative for the virus.
