DOH COVID-19 Update

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 1,945 new coronavirus cases in the state Monday, bringing the statewide total to 896,860 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.

Eighty-seven percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.

State health officials also reported 23 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,119.

According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,447 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 504 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There have been 67,512 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,948 deaths.

Ninety-six new cases and four more deaths were reported in our viewing area Monday.

Cambria reported an increase of 29 new cases, Centre reported 25, Blair reported 14, Bedford reported six, Clearfield reported five, Somerset reported seven, Jefferson reported four, Huntingdon reported three, Elk reported two new cases and Cameron reported one.

As for deaths, Blair, Cambria, Centre and Elk each reported one more death on Monday.

According to the Department of Health, 3,775,387 patients have tested negative for the virus.
