Disposing of Xmas Trees

The National Fire Protection Association is encouraging everyone to dispose of their Christmas Trees as soon as possible. According to the Association, nearly 1/3 of U.S. house fires involving Christmas Trees occur in January. They say Christmas Trees are large, combustible items that have potential to result in serious fires. Fresh trees will continue to dry out throughout the season and become more flammable over time.

To safely dispose of a Christmas Tree, the NFPA recommends using your local community’s recycling program, if possible.
