CVIM Vaccinations

Another Centre County vaccine clinic took place Today this one administering more than 1000 first doses of the Pfizer vaccine to residents at the Penns Valley High School.

In efforts to further vaccinate the Centre County Community, Centre Volunteers In Medicine helped organize yet another vaccine clinic this one for those not in State College.

CVIM has been at the forefront of vaccinating Centre County and organizers say they are extremely excited to see more vaccine clinics being offered in the area. And to expand their reach, they decided to host a clinic today in Penns Valley.

As a result, organizers say they vaccinated about 1,200 people and it was important to switch up locations from out of the State College area, so that they could be more accessible to those who do not want to travel.

And they were very happy with the turn out.

Today’s clinic included 16 people administering doses and nearly 100 volunteers to help get people signed in and ready to receive the vaccine. They temperature checked everyone at the door and wiped down the waiting area seats in between each person.

I talked to Lynnette Breon, a Penns Valley native who says she couldn’t be more excited to her fellow community members getting vaccinated.

“My husband and I both got both of our shots, it was such a relief. The shots are out there. If people would just take a minute and take the time it is worth it. You may get sick but it’s not like having the covid without the shot, so it is very important, and I hope people understand that.”
