CPI Festival of Trees

Preparations are underway at the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology for their annual Center County Festival of Trees event, it starts this Friday evening.

So today and tomorrow, students were busy setting up and decorating 70 trees, those trees all coming from local tree farms throughout Centre County.

The event is open to the public Friday from 4 to 7, Saturday, 9 to 6 and Sunday noon to four. Then, after the event wraps up, the trees and ornaments will be donated to the
Faith Center in Bellefonte to be distributed to families who may not have had a Christmas tree and decorations this year.

“At CPI, we believe in service learning, so it’s wonderful to have our students do something like this. They work the event they help set up for the event. Our culinary students will be
doing food for the event, so it teaches some service learning while fundraising for them.”

Poinsettias will be on sale there, as well as donated items for basket raffles.
