After 82 days in the Penn Highlands Huntingdon Hospital, one COVID-19 Warrior is finally getting to leave. 77-year-old Ruth Hoover first walked through those doors to the Hospital back in February, and at first she didn’t know she had COVID, she just knew she was extremely sick. Fast forward to Friday and she finally walked out of the Hospital as a COVID-19 Survivor, or as her shirt says — a COVID-19 Warrior.
Her time in the Hospital was split between the COVID Cove and the Rehab Area. But she tells us she feels great now, with no lingering COVID symptoms. The Hospital Staff and her Family sent her off with a mini party. Hoover is looking forward to having a home cooked meal, seeing her family, and sleeping in her own bed, but she will miss her friends at the Hospital. She says the confidence from her family and the Hospital Staff are what got her through the hard fought battle.
Ruth adding: “I couldn’t say one word bad about any of them. They were all wonderful. It didn’t matter what I wanted, they gave it to me. I just want to say thanks to everybody that helped take care of me. And thanks to my Pastor for coming to pray with me.”
