Pennsylvania continues to see a rise in COVID-19 cases with numbers close to levels we haven’t seen since the surge at the end of Winter. 5,617 new cases were reported on Saturday by the State Department of Health. This brings the seven-day average to it’s highest point since April 20th, two days after we had hit our Spring peak. 33 more deaths were reported Statewide. The death toll now stands at 28,845 since the start of the Pandemic.
422 Cases were reported locally on Saturday. Cambria and Centre Counties reported more than 70 cases each and Somerset County had more than 60. The rest of the Counties in our region reported around 30 cases or less. Cameron County only had four new cases.
Six more deaths were reported in our viewing area. Two come from Somerset County. The others from Bedford, Blair, Centre, and Clearfield Counties.
Every County in the State continues to have a High Rate of Transmission according to the CDC.
