COVID-19 Update October 10th

Coronavirus case counts across the State continue to rise, in terms of new cases this was the third highest single day total we’ve seen since the start of the Pandemic. Here’s a look at the latest numbers. The Department of Health added 1,742 Coronavirus cases to it’s statewide totals, pushing the State’s tally past 170,000. The only other days where the single day totals were higher came back in April. 36 More reported Coronavirus related deaths in PA brings the death toll to 8,344. With the jump in cases Saturday and the high total reported Friday, the seven day average in cases has seen a dramatic increase as well, now at 1,395. The recovery rate has dropped to 81%.

There are 153 new cases in our viewing area Saturday. Centre County is still seeing more cases than any other County in our viewing area, reporting 81 Saturday. Huntingdon reports 18, Cambria has 17, Blair County reports 14, Clearfield 10, Jefferson 5, Somerset 4, and Bedford had 3. Elk reported one additional case.

Four COVID-19 related deaths were reported in our region as well. Blair County reports 3 and Centre County reports one of those deaths.
