For the second straight day, the Department of Health is reporting a record number of Coronavirus cases in Pennsylvania with close to 13,000. The Department of Health added 12,884 Coronavirus cases to it’s Statewide totals, as Pennsylvania surpassed 400,000 cases since the start of the Pandemic. The additional cases combined with Friday’s record numbers moved the 7 day average to 9,696, the highest it’s been. 149 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Commonwealth, bringing the death toll to 11,262. 5,230 patients are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in PA. That is more than at any other time this year. Of those patients, 1,065 are in the intensive care unit.
1,089 new cases were reported in our 10-County viewing area. Cambria County reported it’s highest daily increase in cases to date with 320. Blair reported an increase of 221 cases, Somerset reported 153, Centre had 96, and Bedford had 78. Clearfield reported 74, Jefferson had 55, Huntingdon had 54, and Elk reported 38 new cases.
Cambria County is also reporting 11 additional COVID-19 related deaths. Bedford reported 5 deaths, Centre reported 4, Blair had 3, and Clearfield reported 2.
