COVID-19 Update November 30th

The Cambria County Courthouse entrance was illuminated in blue light Monday night in honor longtime Cambria County Deputy Sheriff John “Sonny” Kuhar. County Officials say the 79-year-old passed away on Saturday due to COVID-19 complications. Kuhar had been employed with the Cambria County Sheriff’s Office since 1987 and had served in Law Enforcement for 60 years. Those with the Sheriff’s Office say Kuhar was loved and admired. The entrance will be illuminated through Tuesday.

As for the latest Coronavirus related numbers throughout the State reported on Monday, the Department of Health reports over 4,000 new COVID-19 cases. 434 of those are in our region. Cambria County reported 121 cases, Blair County reports 119, Clearfield County reports 54, Somerset County reported 45, Jefferson reported 37, Centre County reports 30, Huntingdon reports 13, Bedford reports 10, and Elk County reports 5 new cases. The DOH also reported 32 more COVID-19 related deaths with Cambria County reporting 2 deaths and Huntingdon County reporting 1 additional death.
