COVID-19 Update January 31st

On Sunday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health added 3,985 cases to it’s Statewide totals. Pennsylvania surpassed 840,000 cases since the start of the Pandemic. 82% of those cases are now considered to be recovered. 59 COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Commonwealth, bringing the death toll to 21,661. 3,370 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in PA. Of those patients, 695 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There were 340 COVID-19 cases reported in our viewing area on Sunday. Centre reported an increase of 182 new cases, Clearfield reported 33, Blair reported 30, Cambria and Huntingdon each reported 28, Somerset reported 20, Jefferson reported 10, Bedford and Elk each reported 4 and Cameron reported one new case.

There were just three COVID-19 related deaths reported in our viewing area, all three of them coming out of Blair County. 1,817 Coronavirus deaths have been reported in our viewing area during the Pandemic.
