COVID-19 Update January 30th

On Saturday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health added 5,191 cases to it’s Statewide totals. Pennsylvania is just shy of 840,000 cases since the start of the Pandemic. 82% of those cases are now considered to be recovered. 140 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Commonwealth, bringing the death toll to 21,602. 3,551 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in PA. Of those patients, 724 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There were 402 COVID-19 cases reported in our viewing area. Centre reported 125 new cases, Huntingdon had 66, Clearfield had 48, Blair reported 42, Cambria reported 34, Jefferson reported 27, Bedford had 26, Somerset had 24, Elk reported 7, and Cameron reported three new cases.

There were 16 COVID-19 deaths reported in our viewing area. Blair reported 8 additional deaths, Clearfield reported 3, Huntingdon reported 2, and Cambria, Jefferson and Somerset each reported one more death.
