COVID-19 Update January 16th

The Department of Health added 7,166 more cases to it’s Statewide totals. Pennsylvania has seen more than 750,000 cases since the start of the Pandemic. 76% of those cases are now considered to be recovered. 231 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Commonwealth, bringing the death toll to 19,188. 4,848 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in PA. Of those patients, 1,010 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There were 446 new COVID-19 cases reported in our viewing area. Cambria reported an additional 104 new cases, Centre reported 71, Somerset reported 64, Blair and Clearfield each reported additional 52 cases. Elk reported 40 new cases, Jefferson added 33, Bedford reported 23, Huntingdon reported five new cases and Cameron County reported two.

There were 26 COVID-19 deaths reported in our viewing area. Somerset reported ten additional deaths, Clearfield County reported four, Bedford reported three, Cambria, Centre and Jefferson each reported two and Huntingdon reported one additional death.
