COVID-19 Update February 27th

On Saturday, the DOH added 3,318 cases to it’s Statewide totals as Pennsylvania nears 930,000 cases since the start of the Pandemic. 90% of those cases are now considered to be recovered. 132 COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Commonwealth, bringing the death toll to 24,069. 1,785 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in PA. Of those patients, 386 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

147 new cases were reported in our viewing area. Centre reported an increase of 54 new cases, Clearfield reported 28, Cambria reported 27, Blair and Somerset each reported 11, Bedford reported 9, Huntingdon reported 3, and Elk and Jefferson each reported two new cases. No new cases were reported in Cameron County.

There were 5 reported Death in our viewing area. 2 were from Cambria, and Jefferson, Centre, and Hunting Counties each reported 1 additional death.
