COVID-19 Update April 24th

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 4,254 new Coronavirus cases in the State Saturday, ringing the Statewide total to 1,131,014. Health officials say 89% of the State’s total cases are considered to be recovered.

State Health Officials reported 45 more Coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 25,983. 2,702 people are hospitalized with the Virus across Pennsylvania and and 563 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Hhere Locally, 317 new cases and 5 more deaths were reported in our viewing area. Centre reported an increase of 80 new cases, Blair reported 72, Cambria reported 68, Clearfield reported 31, Somerset reported 28, Bedford reported 15, Huntingdon reported 11, Jefferson reported 8 and Elk reported four new cases. No new cases were reported in Cameron County.

As for deaths, Centre reported two additional while Cambria, Clearfield and Somerset each reported one.

Centre County continues to lead the way with the most vaccines distributed to Residents with close to 47,000 Residents fully vaccinated, but Elk County continues remains at the top of the list with the highest percentage of Residents fully vaccinated with 34%.
