Summer this year looks very different than last because of the Pandemic, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the help that’s still available. Here’s where can people find some relief this week in Johnstown.
Beth Burrell, Communications Senior Specialist of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank saying: “We’re really committed to serving the community in any way that we possibly can to make sure that everyone has enough food, until everyone has enough food.”
Wednesday, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will be back in Johnstown for another Drive-up Food Distribution at the Galleria Mall with enough food for 1500 people. Burrell saying: “There’s more than enough food to go around to everyone who needs it so if you need it even if its a scenario where you just need it for a month or two months just to help you get past whatever it is you’re facing right now please reach out and get it.”
You have to make a Reservation on the Food Bank’s website or call them to be guaranteed food. The Distribution will be from Noon until 2pm. Even with restrictions lifted and help wanted signs at businesses everywhere, Volunteers say people still need help.
The Food Bank also wants to remind everyone about their ‘Summer Youth Cafe’ which gives Students 18-years-old and younger free meals over the Summer. Burrell saying: “There are at least 30 sites that are across Cambria County. To find a sight nearest you, you can call 211 or just text food to 877 877.”
