Conemaugh’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline is showing just how much of a demand there is for Vaccine Appointments in our region. Many of our viewers say they have spent hours calling to try and schedule for the upcoming Vaccine Clinics, but have had no success.
Phones have been ringing off the hook for Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline. Multiple people we spoke with say they have spent their entire day calling Conemaugh’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline but are met with a busy signal on the other end of the phone. Conemaugh’s Hotline dedicated to scheduling COVID-19 Vaccine appointments is manned by six Phone Operators. Starting Monday, the phone lines open at 8am and close at 4pm. Officials at Conemaugh say the phones are working and there are still Vaccine appointments available for the Clinics at the end of the month.
Bill Caldwell, Market President of Conemaugh Health Systems saying: “I would just encourage people to be patient. You know we are trying to take the calls as they come in but there is an overwhelming demand not only for the vaccine but specifically around the phone line registration.” Officials believe these busy phone lines shows just how much of a demand there still is for the COVID-19 Vaccine and the option to schedule without a computer, leaving Residents with no choice but to keep calling and hoping to get an appointment.
Conemaugh’s Vaccine Clinics are scheduled to take place March 22nd and 29th at the Galleria. They will be administering approximately 1,800 Vaccines between the two days. At this point, Officials say there are only a little over 800 appointments filled.
