Coach Sullivan Signs Contract Extension

Early in the year Pittsburgh Penguin fans weren’t sure what the future looked like

There was talk that the big-3 would be separated

Since then prayers were answered for Penguin fans

Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin all back together for more time in the Burh

Now their fearless leader has also agreed to terms to stay in Pittsburgh

Head Coach Mike Sullivan signed a three year contract extension

As it was announced by General Manger Ron Hextal

The extension will kick in at the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign and run through 2027

Sullivan led the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 17, he became the first American born coach in the NHL history to win multiple Stanley Cups

The second Head Coach to win Stanley cups in each of his first two season

Since taking over in 2015 sully has recorded 297 wins with Pittsburgh which is the most in team history

He has gone 9-5 in playoff series and has a franchise record of 44 postseason wins
