Clearfield Man Charged

Police in Lawrence Township have charged a Clearfield man with numerous sex crimes after he was caught on video admitting to trying to solicit sex from two individuals who he believed to be underage.

Police say Glenn Goodrich, 58, faces multiple felonies, including attempted statutory sexual assault, attempted aggravated indecent assault, criminal solicitation and unlawful contact with a minor, according to online court documents.

On Feb. 16, police say they were contacted by an employee at the Economy Inn for a report of a YouTube video which reportedly showed one of the motel’s tenants, identified as Goodrich, inviting minors to his room to engage in sexual activities.

According to the criminal affidavit, police say the video shows members of the YouTube channel “Predator Catchers PA” confronting Goodrich in his motel room about the solicitation.

Authorities say Goodrich initially denies the claims made by the group but later admitted to sending pictures and messages to an individual who he believed to be underage.

Goodrich reportedly told the group that this was the first time he had engaged in such activity and that “it would not happen again,” police note.

Police say upon further investigation, officers spoke with the creator of the YouTube channel who showed police the detailed messages between he and Goodrich.

Police say the channel creator explained that Goodrich had contacted him via the “dating” app Grindr and, believing him to be a 14-year-old boy, had solicited him, as well as his friend, whom Goodrich believed to be 16 years of age.

Police noted in the complaint that when they attempted to contact Goodrich, they learned that he had been evicted from the motel and was no longer employed due to the incident.

Authorities say Goodrich was located on Tuesday, April 26, without incident and has since been arraigned to the Clearfield County Prison, on $100,000 bail, court dockets show.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 4.
