Clearfield County COVID-19 Relief

A County in our area was awarded more than $5 Million to help households impacted by COVID-19. The Department of Human Services awarded Central Pennsylvania Community Action awarded $5,212,625 for their emergency rental assistance program. Michelle Stiner, the Director of Operations & Finance at CPCA saying: “This program was designed to assist eligible individuals in households within the County who are obligated to pay rent and has qualified for unemployment benefits or has experienced a reduction in income due directly or indirectly to COVID-19.”

Stiner says this program can also assist with relocation and internet expenses. The income eligibility requirements vary per household, and only Clearfield County residents are eligible. Stiner adding: “For a household size of 1 the income guidelines are $36,350 annually or below, household of 2 would be $41,550.” Stiner says the state is requiring them to spend this money before the end of the year.

Though the CDC extended the eviction moratorium to June 30th, Stiner says this doesn’t have an impact on this program. Stiner adding: “In the past in some of our other programs they would be required to provide an eviction notice but we won’t need that for this program.”
