City Championship

This Friday kicked off the first round of the City Championship at Berkley Hills Golf Course many familiar faces are back on greens in Johnstown for this tournament including a few previous winners

Here’s the defending champion Derek Hayes he’s won 3 of the last four and the winner the year before him Thomas Facciani

Hayes tee shot on par 5 12th hole landed him to the right in the trees but with a straight line to the green he two putted for par

Facciani with a chance for birdie that ball just stopped he also two putted for par

Hayes found himself in a little bit of trouble with a tree branch on the par 4 13, so this lengthy putt is for par what save Hayes tied for 2nd at one over

Also in that group we had Dave Murgas not camera shy at all on par 3 14 Dave chips his second shot then sinks the putt for par and a smile Murgas sitting in 4th place at plus two

Playing in front of them on 18 Phil Keilman second shot would you look at this a perfect set up he has a chance for birdie he got it

With him Jay Pheasant and he also has a chance to make a birdie and there you have it what a way to finish round one

Here’s a look at the leader board afer the first round Gred Highder Westmont and Saint Francis graduate leads at an even par

Right behind him we have Derek Hayes and Aaron Patalune tied for second at one over

Dave Merjes at two over in 4th place the whole group we started with on the leader board

Tom Faccaini in 5th at 3 over and Jay Pheasant in 6th at seven over

We have a few players tied in the top 10 Phil Keilman and Andrew Watt tied for 7th at plus seven

And then a 3 way tie for 9th place at 8 over between David Carney, Rick Lee and Paul Pentz
