Jury selection is underway for the trial of a man accused of shooting and killing a Centre County woman inside her home in 2016.
Christopher Kowalski, 35, was arrested in Feb. of 2021, in South Carolina, and charged for the death of 60-year-old Jean Tuggy.
Authorities say Kowalski confessed to the murder and allegedly told police that he had contemplated killing Tuggy “for months.”
According to police testimony, Kowalski said that, on the day of the shooting, he brought tea to drink as he termed it “bait” to get invited into Tuggy’s home.
Recently, however, Kowalski’s defense has argued that his confession to the murder was coerced.
Kowalski’s trial is scheduled to begin on Oct. 31.
