Coronavirus related headlines. A long term care facility in Centre County now confirms its has close to 150 residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Thats the word from administrators at Centre Crest, who in a newsletter this week stated there are 145 active confirmed covid resident cases at this time along with 46 active confirmed COVID staff members at the facility.
Centre Crest’s total number of residents who have been diagnosed with COVID is now at 193.
Due to government privacy requirements,how many of those residents have passed away,is not public information. Recently though
Pennsylvania’s secretary of health said there’s been a change in the death rate at long term care facilities.
“We have had more death in long term facilities,but the overall percentage is down,which shows how widespread COVID now is in the communities”
Centre Crest says none of the current residents have reported new respiratory symptoms in the past three days. According to the department of health, there’s been a total of 466 residents in 16 Centre County long term facilities who have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
