Centre County Man Pleads Guilty to Assault

A Centre County man is facing a lengthy prison term after pleading guilty Thursday to raping four Penn State students, with the first rape reported more than a decade ago.

He appeared in court Thursday and, through a series of guilty pleas, he admitted to raping the women in State College, with the first assault happening in 2010, and the last one in 2017.

All the victims were 19 or 20 years old.

Investigators said Fields did not know the women that he attacked, beat and sexually assaulted near downtown State College.

None could initially identify Fields, but police say DNA at the crime scenes eventually led them to Fields.

They said it took members of Fields’ family providing their own DNA samples that finally broke the case and led to Fields’ eventual arrest.

He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
