This will be the Third Year the West Taylor Volunteer Fire Company will hold a Softball Tournament for Charity, and their second year naming it in memory of their Fire Captain — Lee Adam Dill — who was killed early last year.
The Tournament will be held August 28th and 29th with Eight Teams raising money for eight different charities, such as the Women’s Help Center, Humane Society, and Cuddles for Kids. Organizers say they need the communities help with raffles.
Brian Dill, an Organizer of the Captain Lee Adam Dill Softball Tournament saying: “He was my hero. He helped me organize the first year of this tournament. After that tragedy took place, we thought it would be great to name it after him and raise money for charities who definitely need it.” Derek Yerty, another Organizer adding: “I just think it became part of the community, not just here in West Taylor Township, but for the whole Johnstown region.”
